2003 LANDOWNER RECOGNITION DINNER |
|---|
| On October 30, 2003, the Rumford Polar Bears Snowmobile Club hosted a special evening to recognize area landowners. If it were not for the generosity of these landowners, our trail system would not exist. We can't thank them enough for allowing us to snowmobile on their land!
Ron Russell greets arriving guests. The Eagles Club once again opened their wonderful facility for our use. With over 120 landowners and club members in attendance, the evening began with a social period from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a delicious dinner of chicken parmesan, rice pilaf, baby carrots, and rolls. Dessert was Boston cream pie and cake. Diane Mitchell made the cake which was decorated with a snowmobile motif and an expression of thanks to the landowners.
Following dinner, entertainment was provided by Sara Gilbert and Angie Richards, two young violinists from Mount Blue High School who are members of the Franklin County Fiddlers. They provided lively, toe-tapping music which was well received by the crowd.
Sara Gilbert and Angie Richards Next, Bob Meyers, Executive Director of the Maine Snowmobile Association, spoke to the gathering. He emphasized the importance of establishing and maintaining good relations with landowners, and added his own thanks to all the landowners in attendance.
Bob Meyers from MSA The door prize drawing was won by Jeff Gilbert. Linda French was the lucky 50/50 winner. The evening ended on a musical note with one more set by Sara Gilbert and Angie Richards. |
