FAMILY FIELD DAY, MARCH 1, 2003 Preparing for the Field Day
The Field Day Planning Committee
It looks like just a big pile of snow ...
... but by the end of the first work day, it begins to take shape ...
... and at the end of the second day, a giant Polar Bear Slide has been created!
Members of the Planning Committee prepare the site ... and have fun, too!
Watch it boys! Don't tip those too much!
Two rolls of duct tape should do it ...
... and up goes the banner.
The Big Day Arrives
Husbands and wives ...
... fathers and daughters...
... grandfathers and granddaughters ...
... and children of all ages enjoy the Polar Bear Slide
Our wonderful emcee for the children's activities creates a balloon toy.
The ring toss game
The "official" for the three-legged race readies the participants ...
... and they're off!
The Polar Bears arrive with their goodie bags for the children.
Enjoying the day.
Members of the luncheon crew.
"I'm hungry. When do we eat?" "In a minute. Its almost ready."
Now its time to eat!
Dishing up another bowl of Fern's Famous Beef Stew.
Chowing down.
The chef who cooked up that great beef stew!
The emcees for the adult games supervise a participant in the Reverse Race.
"I beat my husband in the reverse race!! So what if it was by only 1/100 of a second!"
The ladies almost swept the race in the Ball & Broom competition.
The Ping-Pong Ball Carry Race ... Ready .... Set ....
.... Go! Oops, looks like that ping-pong ball is on the fly!
She can't seem to get beyond the starting line! Is she laughing or crying!?!?
