BRINGING IN FILL (ROUND TWO)September 8-19, 2008 |

9/8/08 - The first step in bringing the earth to the correct elevation required filling the area on the inside and outside of the north entry garage door so we could get the tractor inside the building. The sandy gravel had to be compacted after the addition of every 4-6 inches of gravel. Also, each side of the frost walls had to be filled to the same depth to ensure even pressure on both sides of the walls. |

| 9/9/08 - In a drizzly rain, we had time to get the first layer of dirt over the footers on the inside and outside of the building before the drizzle became a downpour. | |
9/10/08 - It was a long day, but we accomplished a lot today! |

| 9/11/08 - In the event that we heat the building with radiant heat in the concrete floor, two inch thick insulation was placed around the inside perimeter of the building. | |

| 9/12/08 - Henry Zinck volunteered his time and the use of his small excavator to dig the hole for the power pole. Henry is also the first person to donate to our final fundraising drive for the groomer garage. Many thanks Henry for your generous donation and for getting the ball rolling! | |
