BRINGING
IN FILL (ROUND TWO), continued
|
| |
9/12/08,
continued - While Henry Zinck was digging
the hole for the power pole ... |
|
... Kevin Knox delivered
more fill to the site so Gene Knox
could bucket it into the
interior of the building ...
|
|
... John Blais (on his day off) continued
compacting ... |
|
and Sam Stickney finished putting on
the insulation. |
|
|
|
|
By mid-day, a light rain
was falling, but that didn't stop
Linda Blais from dropping
by to lend a hand!
|
|
| At 2:00 p.m., Dany Anctil arrived with a
power pole loaded on his pulp truck. Many thanks Dany for donating
not only the pole, but your time to help us put it up! Thanks also
to John Blais for donating the guy wire kit for the pole! |
|
Gene Knox helps John Blais
(behind the pole) attach
the guy wire while Dany
Anctil looks on.
|
|
Dany skillfully places the pole in the
hole which Henry Zinck had prepared. |
|
With the pole in position, Sam, John,
and Bob pack fill into the hole. |
|
9/13/08
- Saturday morning and Bob, Gene, John, and Louise are back at it for
a half day of filling and compacting. |
|
 |
By noon, the fill is nearly at the required
elevation of 2 inches below the insulation. |
| |
| 9/15/08
- Before the final layer of fill goes in, the pipe for the sewer needs
to be placed. |
|
 |
John Blais digs and then he and Bob
Stickney check the sewer pipe elevation. |
| |
9/16/08
- Unfortunately, the web site photographer wasn't available when the
sewer pipe was actually put together, so we have no photos of plumber
Steve Lizotte when he came to get that job done. Thank you,
Steve, for volunteering your time and expertise! |
| |
| 9/18/08 - A morning of filling and compacting
and the interior fill is up to the desired level! |

River) |

|
Gene Knox now turns his attention
to grading around the outside
perimeter of the building
site.
|
Gene (back to camera) and Bob (right) discuss with
Kevin Knox (left) how many more loads they'll need to create the ramp
up to the south door of the garage. |
|
|
|
The dirt arrives and Gene uses his tractor
to make the ramp take shape. |
| |
| 9/19/08 - The ramp gets
completed by John Blais using the Stickney tractor. |
|
|
| |
| The next step in construction will be to frame the walls. |
