DIGGING THE TRENCH FOR THE FOOTERS

August 21 & 22, 2008

Using the Stickney's backhoe, Gene Knox begins digging the trench for the footers at the southwest corner.
To achieve a level surface, the bottom of the footer trench was finished by hand-shoveling.
	Bob Stickney shovels along the west side of the footer trench.
Louise Stickney shovels along the north side of the footer trench.
Frequent checks for the elevation were made.
By the end of the first day of digging ... at the northeast corner of the footer trench and half done!
The second day of digging ... looking down the east footer trench.
Heading down the home stretch ... working on the south footer trench.
Back to the beginning and the end of digging the footer trench! Next we need to bring in some fill.
