The workers: Gene Knox, Ron Russell Sr, Ken MacFawn, Gordon Phillips, Jeff Mayo, Bob Stickney, John Blais, Buddy Bouchard, Chris Dickson, Reggie Bellegarde, Roger Miller, and Bill French. Not in the above picture, but also helping out were Ron Russell Jr. and Louise Stickney Although the sky was dark and grey, it was a jovial crew that gathered at McDonald's on Sunday, November 2. The workers were divided into two crews and dispatched to opposite ends of Club Trail 12 between the Milton Road and Route 232 near Thornton's chicken farm. Brushing out the trails had barely begun when it began to rain. Everyone continued to work in spite of the dampness. But two hours later, all were wet, cold, and ready to call it a day. Even though not as much was accomplished as had been hoped for, it was a great beginning! |

| The workers: Ivan Arsenault, Jeff Mayo, Rob Cameron, Scott Gauvin and Curtis Gauvin, Gordon Phillips, Fern Dumoulin, Bob Stickney, Ron Russell, Gary Clement, and Louise Stickney (not in photo) What a contrast from the previous Sunday! Clear skies and cold, wintry air greeted the workers as they gathered at McDonald's. Once again, two crews were formed and headed out at 8:10 a.m. to complete brushing out the trail from Milton Road and Route 232. |
Ron asks Rob, Bob, and Fern, "Are we having fun yet?"
Ron and Fern watch Rob as he reaches for the high branches with the pole saw.
Jeff looks like he might be thinking about building a pole raft to get across this water hole, while Gordon decides to circumnavigate, and it looks like Ivan will just ford through with his four wheeler!
Scott and Jeff clear the brush, while Gordon and Gary wield the power saws. |
The youngest worker ... four-year-old Curtis Gauvin!
The two crews meet! Mission accomplished!

Done for the day ... heading home. |
